III Business Forum "1520 Strategic Partnership: Baltic Region"

October, 17 - 18, 2011
Riga, Latvia

The III International Regional Rail Business Forum “1520 Strategic Partnership: Baltic Region” will take place on 17 – 18 October 2011 in Riga. The General International Partner is Russian Railways and the General Partner is Latvian Railways.

The discussions will centre on the most pressing issues concerning the development of the railway business, among which are mechanisms for attracting investment to the industry, how to make transport more competitive, improving the quality and comprehensiveness of services offered, and modernising the railway infrastructure. The main aim of the forum is to strengthen relationships between railways and to develop business cooperation in the Baltic region, which by virtue of its geographical position is a very important transport hub linking the 1520 and 1435 gauge railway areas.

The “1520 Strategic Partnership” regional business forums take place every year, and have been doing so since 2006. In the Baltic region the forum has already been hosted by Riga in 2008 and Tallinn in 2010.

The organiser of the forum is Business Dialogue.
