Dear colleagues, participants of the III International Regional Rail Business Forum “1520 Strategic Partnership: Baltic Region”! On behalf of the JSC “RZDstroy” let me please welcome you on a regular session of communication platform undertaking such a responsible duty as to facilitate the development and interaction of the “broad gauge” partners.
Globalization of the international trade, freight traffic growth as well as the integration of the Baltic States into the European Union turns the Baltic Sea Region to the most important transit point, the key link of the Eurasian economic cooperation. In this connection it is hard to overestimate the potential of the Baltic Region in the development of the East-West and North-South transportation corridors.
During the meeting of the leaders of the transport business in Riga, which shall undoubtedly be an important event, we are faced to discuss a large variety of vital issues. In the focus of the discussion there will be most sensitive and problematic questions which occur to be determinative for the development of the business and industry sector as a whole.
I am convinced that the Forum “1520 Strategic Partnership” will be recognized as an outstanding event for all the “broad gauge” partners as well as the representatives of other railway systems being interested in the development of the “1520 area”.

Let me please wish the participants of the Forum the most fruitful work, effective meetings and strengthening of the partnership relations.
