On behalf of the State Duma Committee for Transport I welcome the delegates, guests and organizers of the International Geopolitical Symposium “1520: Strategic Dialogue"
Transport is a key industry, determining the social and economic development of the state. The geographical position of Russia poses the geopolitical challenges as to the development of transport infrastructure. In this context, historically established "1520 Area" comes out as an important strategic tool in the formation and implementation of an integrated transport policy of the CIS and Baltic states.
I am confident that in the course of the Symposium representatives of public authorities, expert and business communities will work out suggestions as to the state policy in the sphere of transport.
