On behalf of Siemens, I would like to cordially welcome the participants and organizers of the 6th International Rail Business Forum “Strategic Partnership 1520”! The Integration Strategy of both spaces, 1520 and 1435, serves on the one hand as the fundament of a long-term partnership to mutual benefit in order to ensure a lasting development of railway systems, and on the other hand as the basis for the modernization of the whole Eurasian transportation system, through improved efficiency and sustainability, as well as through innovation and experience. The strategy paves the way to an even better integrated mobility as a single network for the entire continent. Intensified cooperation between companies of the 1520 and 1435 spaces enables a modernization strategy to be implemented jointly. It will be already in the nearest future that modern innovative products may be developed and introduced on the basis of a unified International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS). All this means that we are already start talking today about shaping a new integrated railway system of 1520 and 1435 spaces. It will be based on energy efficiency, manufacturing cooperation, training of skilled professionals, on the development of high-speed and regional commutation, intermodality and green technologies. Siemens fully supports this integration initiative as well as the application of innovative approaches for its implementation. Involving as many participants as possible, intensively exchanging experience and developing a better understanding of practical steps for putting the initiative into practice, will contribute to the success of the strategic partnership of countries. Let me wish fruitful work and constructive dialogue to all participants of the Forum!
