On behalf of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs I congratulate you on the opening of the VI International Rail Business Forum “1520 Strategic Partnership”. We are all well aware that rail transport is one of the foundational sectors of the Russian economy and the rate of our state’s economic development depends directly on the efficiency of its work. Thus the most important objectives facing the railway workers of our country are: providing safe and uninterrupted passenger transport, increasing the quality of transport services for freight owners, and realising the country’s enormous potential in the area of developing transit transport on the basis of cooperation and integration with the transport systems of other states. I am sure that the VI International Rail Business Forum “1520 Strategic Partnership” will enable the participants to exchange experience and develop a consolidated position aimed at seeking effective ways to address the state’s objectives in terms of developing the transport industry.
