The Baltic region: a railway business spanning EuropeRussian and Latvian partnership in rail transportation is to enter a new stage of development. The III International Regional Railway Business Forum 1520 Strategic Partnership: the Baltic Region is to open in Riga on 17 October. Since this event is of major significance for widening economic cooperation between our countries, it will bring together participants of the highest ranks. The top management of Russian Railways and Latvian Railway, heads of major Russian and foreign companies whose activities are closely connected to rolling stock and railway freight transportation, as well as politicians and financiers, have been invited to take part in the Forum. The event has been greatly supported by the Latvian political establishment, since railway transportation plays a key role in the country’s economy – a fact recognised by Andris Bērziņš, President of Latvia, who will participate in the official opening ceremony. |
